An unprecedented Rotary Global Grant application for $1,000,000 is under way to fund vital surgical equipment for Mercy Ships. This funding will enable hospital ships to be fitted with the necessary equipment to deliver free surgeries and medical training across the sub-Saharan region of Africa. Cookstown Rotary Club has already pledged to support this initiative. Past District Governor Alastair Laird is organising a quiz at Killymoon Rotary Club on Friday the 13th March to support this important humanitarian cause. Alastair's last fund raising event for Mercy Ships raised £6000!
